What data we collect

At Kingfisher Commons Ltd. we collect personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details) for marketing purposes, order processing and staff administration. We also collect data for research purposes and will specify further details on the use of data collected per research activity. 

Comments and cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

- You have signed up for one of our updates, waiting lists and/or resources

- You have participated in one of our research projects

- You have contacted us about one of our services

We use the information that you have given us in order to share updates, information on upcoming events, courses and/or products and to share resources with you. We do not pass this personal information on to a third party.

We use the information given to us to feed into our research projects and you will have been informed how your personal data as per the research project participated. You will have been informed if there is any third-party sharing of the data you share in our research projects.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting contact@kingfishercommons.co.uk

How we store your personal information

In line with data protection principles, we only keep your data for as long as we need it for, which will be at least for the duration of your interest in receiving our updates and/or interactions regarding accessing one of our products or services. We will remove your data from our CRM platform, email accounts and any other storage of your data. 

Your rights in relation to your data

The law on data protection gives you certain rights in relation to the data we hold on you. These are:
• the right to be informed. This means that we must tell you how we use your data, and this is the purpose of this privacy notice
• the right of access. You have the right to access the data that we hold on you. To do so, you should make a subject access request. You can read more about this in our Subject Access Request policy which is available from tessa@kingfishercommons.co.uk 
• the right for any inaccuracies to be corrected. If any data that we hold about you is incomplete or inaccurate, you are able to require us to correct it 
• the right to have information deleted. If you would like us to stop processing your data, you have the right to ask us to delete it from our systems where you believe there is no reason for us to continue processing it
• the right to restrict the processing of the data. For example, if you believe the data we hold is incorrect, we will stop processing the data (whilst still holding it) until we have ensured that the data is correct 
• the right to portability. You may transfer the data that we hold on you for your own purposes
• the right to object to the inclusion of any information. You have the right to object to the way we use your data where we are using it for our legitimate interests
• the right to regulate any automated decision-making and profiling of personal data. You have a right not to be subject to automated decision making in way that adversely affects your legal rights. 
Where you have provided consent to our use of your data, you also have the unrestricted right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent means that we will stop processing the data that you had previously given us consent to use. There will be no consequences for withdrawing your consent. However, in some cases, we may continue to use the data where so permitted by having a legitimate reason for doing so.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
